The California Connects Regional Convening brought new statewide initiatives to Ventura County on October 29, 2025, gathering state officials, community leaders, and local organizations at the Staybridge Suites in Oxnard. Hosted by the Office of Community Partnership and Strategic Communication, the event introduced GO*SERVE, a new initiative designed to strengthen collaboration between California businesses and community organizations through networking events, digital tools, resource-sharing platforms, and mentorship opportunities. Additional statewide efforts highlighted included the California Men’s Service Challenge and the Climate Action Counts Campaign.

Community organizations such as El Concilio Family Services, Conejo Valley Village, PVPSA, and the Santa Barbara Foundation shared updates on their services and challenges during the convening. Coverage was provided by the 99ThreeFM Radio Media team. The Community Advocacy Coalition (CAC), a 501(c)(3) focused on improving the well-being of African American and African-descended residents, operates 99ThreeFM as its media arm to uplift community voices, provide culturally centered news, and amplify advocacy throughout Ventura County and the Central Coast.
